I don't often post book reviews here. I probably should, if only to give authors more exposure to a potential audience.
For almost twenty years, I have written book reviews for the Smoky Mountain News. I am proud of Scott McLeod, the editor, for continuing to run reviews, for a good number of papers have dropped them altogether.
One thing I love about writing these reviews for the SMN is that about 95% of the time I get to choose the books for review. Scott doesn't require me to get prior approval for the books I read, and I appreciate his trust in my judgment. Moreover, because I select the books for review, I get to choose those that appeal to me or those that should appeal SMN readers.

At any rate, here is the latest review.
Enjoy.
